 Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It's not obvious from this ticket's
 discussion. Not for me at least.

 Please suggest a testing scenario. Shall I simply create a file like this
 {{{
 $ sudo touch /töst
 $ sudo port build
 }}}
 in order to provoke the failure and see the improvement after applying the
 patch?
