 I'm experiencing the same problem, but found a workaround.
 After the upgrade aborted, just go to the build directory of py34-py2app
 and add the two directories missing:

 {{{
 cd
 /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports
 .org_release_tarballs_ports_python_py-py2app/py34-py2app/work/py2app-0.11
 sudo mkdir doc/_static doc/_templates
 }}}

 and then start the upgrade again. Worked on both of my machines.
