 This ticket is old and closed, but for interest if anyone is searching
 this issue, qemu @2.9.0 installs and appears to function correctly on
 10.6.8 when built with macports-gcc-6 and enabling the sdl2 interface. The
 cocoa interface did not build, and all clang versions do not support TLS
 so will not work.
