 mktexfmt fails to run with the following error:

 {{{Undefined subroutine &TeXLive::TLUtils::prepend_own_path called at
 /opt/local/bin/mktexfmt line 66.}}}

 This is a blocker in revision bumping asymptote, as I'm in the process of
 updating dependents of gsl.
