 Just to correct myself: upstream is following the tracker, but with kind
 of the same pace as MacPorts devs do. Old tickets that stay open forever.
 Nobody from the core dev team uses a mac and that shows up.

 You have sufficient mileage with MacPorts. I would suggest you to try the
 latest version from trunk/master to check if that one works any better.
