 Working now. The problem was that with the way the Portfile defines
 subports, I can't just put the patched copy in some directory and do `sudo
 port install`, since that tries to install `py-thrift` which then looks up
 its dependency `py27-thrift` the regular ports tree instead of the current
 directory. Sorry for the noise. Carry on.
