 I tested the file `essai-en.tex` after having changed the line

 {{{
 \usepackage[box,completemulti]{/opt/local/share/texmf-texlive-
 dist/tex/latex/automultiplechoice}
 }}}

 with
 {{{
 \usepackage[box,completemulti]{automultiplechoice}
 }}}

 and got the same unicode error.

 A similar test with the file `essai-en2.tex` show no error and the file is
 correctly processed.

 I think that this ticket should be closed.
