 I'm not familiar with Josh's claim of a workaround.

 Using [attachment:ticket:44129:test_libc++_stream.cc Michael's test
 program] I can confirm that Lion's Xcode clang (`Apple LLVM version 4.2
 (clang-425.0.28) (based on LLVM 3.2svn)`) has the bug, and that macports-
 clang-3.4 does not have the bug, and that macports-clang-3.7 ''does'' have
 the bug (!). If I force the use of clang-3.4, cmake 3.10.0 builds and
 works on Lion.
