 The `octave.log` file is not really informative, all it says is that
 wxWidgets-3.0 fails to build. Almost certainly for exactly the same reason
 as wxWidgets-3.2 fails (#54902).

 You can try to update the ports and install octave again in 30 minutes or
 so.
