 yes, clang-3.4 can't build anything much reliably on PowerPC. It should
 somehow get blacklisted in macports' compiler choice settings.

 Do you mind if I ask what you are up to on PPC that needs libunwind? I
 seem to be happy with it for quite some time now, and I don't have it
 installed at present.

 I do have clang-3.8 working on PPC quite well. You can see
 <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/53184> for some info on that. It's
 almost ready for a Portfile release. Just was hoping ian sandhoe or
 somebody would help me fix the issue with eh_frames and exceptions...
