 I tried to install msp430-gcc for a couple of hours and and I am getting
 nowhere.
 I was connected to university network so I used my phone to in case of it
 was to do with firewall or proxies but had no luck.
 Then I acually downloaded the "gcc-4.6.3.tar.bz2" from
 "https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gcc/gcc-4.6.3/" which was placed in
 /opt/local/macports/var/distfiles then treidt to install which did not
 work.
 I attach my log too as well as this:
