Comment:

 The preferred method would have been that @xiph would properly release
 libao 1.2.2 with the fix. It seems to be tagged in git, but the website
 still only advertises a release tarball for 1.2.0. As this release seems
 to have been [https://repology.org/metapackage/libao/versions packaged
 widely] anyway already, I will look into updating the libao port.
