Comment:

 Rainer fixed the variant names in this port in
 [e8dce43fab24e97d36f9f603b9fefef36d19e810/macports-ports].

 Variant names definitely can't contain dashes. The ability to use periods
 in variant names was added in #46807 and will be in MacPorts 2.5.0.
