Comment:

 As of Trac 1.2 users can configure the type of notifications they want to
 receive in the [https://trac.macports.org/prefs/notification preferences].

 This also allows users override the old `always_notify_reporter = true`
 setting of Trac 1.0. As users can now opt-out of notifications for their
 reported tickets, having the reporter on the CC list actually has a
 purpose.

 As we are not going to take the proposed action, I am closing this as
 wontfix.
