 As an interesting aside, I noticed that we only automatically append -fno-
 strict-aliasing to clang compiles for c code on Darwin in python's
 compile-all but not for c++ code. This differs from Ubuntu linux's
 python-2.7 which emits -fno-strict-aliasing for both c and c++ code.
