 I cannot reproduce your polyfit error. It works fine for me with python36
 and ipython. Here are my test suite results:

 NumPy version 1.15.0
 ...
 4946 passed, 20 skipped, 7 xfailed in 274.98 seconds
 }}}

 For reference, what are your installed versions of the relevant ports?
