 It doesn't affect 3.6. Don't know about 3.7. There are a lot of changes in
 the _ssl.c file between Python 3.5.6 and 3.6.6, but I've attached what
 seem to be the changes that may be related to this issue. This was a
 conscientious but casual effort; I haven't attempted to digest all the
 code in the _ssl.c file.
