 I use re2c with spamassassin, and with 1.1, sa-compile says:

 libc++abi.dylib: terminating with uncaught exception of type
 std::out_of_range: basic_string
 /opt/perlbrew/perls/perl-5.28.0/bin/sa-compile requires re2c for proper
 operation.
 }}}

 This is probably an upstream bug, I haven't reported it there (yet). We
 may want to consider reverting to version 1.0.3 which works.
