 Currently we are trying to manually replace the work of cabal to integrate
 it into the Macports way of doing things, and this is proving to be a
 huge, perhaps unsustainable, project.

 Just calling cabal to install the packages is easy. But doesn't let
 Macports know what is going on.

 We could find a way to drive and query cabal....(much like we might do
 with pip and cpan, perhaps.)

 Or, we could  parse the cabal package information or output to automate
 portfile generation and updates.

 But doing it all manually is collapsing...
