 I'm a sucker for punishment and clearly looking for diversion from the
 work I'm supposed to be doing today :>

 Here's a patch that fixes the usage of `HAVE_CXX11`, and another patch
 that disables it. I note also there was a typo in their code for one of
 their `__cplusplus` tests are well; they used `_cplusplus` by accident.
