 bazel @0.5.2 prints a bunch of junk (build progress information) to the
 terminal window while building. This could have something to do with the
 fact that the port is using `exec` instead of `system`. I see there is an
 open pull request to update it to 0.9.0, but that the discussion there
 says that switching from `exec` to `system` causes the port to fail to
 build, so that pull request might not resolve this issue.
