 There are patches in that other ticket that with a bit of modification fix
 up the preprocessor issue.

 The other issue (not finding libXau.a, I believe it was, is a bit weirder.

 I think it might be fixed by defining _FORTIFY_SOURCE to 0, but that's
 just a guess at this moment.
