 Glad it works ! and yes, sticking to the defaults is a good idea as then
 you get the binary tarball.

 What likely happened is when you first installed root6 veccore was one of
 the default variants. Since then, whenever you update this variant is
 preserved, even if it was subsequently removed as a default variant.

 Just for future reference, if you find root6 suddenly building from source
 again in the future, a quick fix is to do this again, so completely
 uninstall it then reinstall, picking up whatever the defaults now are. I
 try not to, but the defaults do occasionally change, to work around issues
 which come up now and then. ROOT has a lot of optional features, so a lot
 of variants..
