 I highly suspect whether this inline patch is still necessary. Emacs has
 been able to accept any unicode character input directly from the system's
 IM for a while now. There's no need to add extra support for it anymore.

 This patch, which was originally lifted from Mitsuharu Yamamoto's mac
 port, doesn't even exist their anymore. We can probably remove this
 entirely.
