 Well, you know more than me, but `fortran_variant_name`  is returning
 `gfortran`, which seems correct to me.

 It's just that this line in now an error with that value, because there is
 no such port as `gfortran`

 depends_lib-append      port:gfortran
 }}}
 It would seem that part of the Portfile logic needs to be reworked.
