 During wiki:Meetings/MacPortsMeeting2018 we discussed that portmgr@ can
 sometimes be slow to respond. We discussed having a timeout mechanism like
 [https://guide.macports.org/#project.update-policies.nonmaintainer
 maintainer timeout] for ports.

 Document this in the guide.
