Comment (by isezen):

 1- It embeds definitions (normally located at
 /opt/local/share/eccodes/definition) in a shared library
 (libeccodes_memfs.so), hence if MEMFS option is ON, ecCodes read
 definitions from memory (if loaded before). It eliminates the need to read
 likely lots of files from disk.

 2- I can only open an issue on GitHub. I didn't make any change (I even
 don't know how to) on port setup file.
