 Thanks a lot for the feedback.

 I fixed the other problem and I retried building with `texinfo` enabled
 and that seems to work fine for me now. I don't know how and when, but I
 strongly suspect that this problem was fixed at some point in the
 meantime, so I'm closing this bug. (This was definitely not the only
 affected port.)
