 I have also noticed that the +quartz variant is misbehaving on Mojave,
 though I haven't used it in previous macOS versions either.  I was able to
 get it to run, but the window either doesn't render correctly, is slow to
 repaint, or sometimes the mouse clicks do not register in the correct
 positions.
