 When doing an install or upgrade, the last terminal messages shown are
 usually

 {{{
 --->  Cleaning foo
 --->  Removing work directory for foo
 }}}

 and then the port command can remain busy doing who knows what for long
 seconds. I know consciously that it's probably just doing a somewhat
 lengthy registry operation but I often cannot help but wonder why that
 delete operation is taking so long ("exactly what is it deleting?!")

 Maybe 'base' could show an additional progress message showing that the
 delete operation has completed, something more or less to the point like
 `Finishing up`?
