 Trying to install `gnuplot +pdflib` leads during the configure phase to
 the warning:

 {{{
 configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-pdf
 }}}

 Running `./configure --help` gives no hint on using PDF. Could be the need
 for costing `PDF Input Lib` in `PDFlib-Lite-7.0.5p3` has motivated this
 change? So mentioning this variant should be removed from Portfile.

 P.S.: In Safari Version 12.0.1 (13606.2.100) on High Sierra 10.13.6
 (17G65) with a MacBook Pro that's too old for Mojave I cannot select the
 version of `port`. The list of versions appeared once on clicking on that
 button and now it's gone completely.
