 I can't reproduce this. Are you sure that you have the latest versions of
 both the biblatex-biber and texlive-bibtex-extra ports installed?

 texlive-bibtex-extra provides biblatex 3.11 and biblatex-biber provides
 biber 2.11 which are the compatible versions according to the
 compatibility matrix.
