 Comment 8 says that Unicode text rendering is broken in the +quartz
 variant of cairo. The current 1.14.12 version of cairo shipped by MacPorts
 has +quartz enabled by default. I was able to test this version with the
 attached utf8.txt and can confirm that the text rendering worked
 correctly. I believe this issue can be closed.
