 While the issue I reported above with installation of texlive-bin-extra
 still persists, I am very happy that I at least have obtained a for me
 workable texlive installation again. -- I am thankful to each of you who
 has looked into this issue, and in particular so if your effort has led to
 me being able to use a workable macports texlive installation again. Best
