 I'm not using Catalina and there seems to be no useful debug information
 to see where the issue originates from.

 I would still like you to go back to the last commit that didn't use
 {{{py-pybojc}}} as a dependency (see reference above) and see if
 everything is still fine there - that would potentially a clue. One other
 thing that would perhaps be worth trying is to make a {{{virtualenv}}} and
 install Spyder 4 through {{{pip}}} and see if that all works as intended
 (or using {{{conda}}} for that matter. If there are no issues there, it
 must be somewhere with a package in MacPorts, otherwise it's for sure an
 upstream problem.
