Comment:

 This is the same old intltool.m4 bug that we patched and reported years
 ago and still hasn't been so much as acknowledged by upstream:
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/intltool/+bug/1197875

 The solution is to autoreconf to pick up our fixed version.
