 I was not able to built smtube in a straightforward manner. It appears
 that the compiler picked on 10.6 (clang from Apple) does not want to build
 MPlayer.
 Eventually with help from Macports users I found a work-around in
 specifying Macports clang5 to build Mplayer. With Mplayer built and some
 other issues fixed smtube finally buit and runs.

 So it appears that Macports picks the wrong compiler.
