 rEFIt is abandoned since ~2010, but there is an actively maintained fork
 of it, rEFInd. However, SIP being enabled by default in recent macOS
 versions complicates installation, such that either SIP must be disabled,
 or the rEFInd installation be done from a secondary/recovery OS.
