 It's usually better to copy the Portfile to a local repository and make
 changes to it there:

 https://guide.macports.org/chunked/development.local-repositories.html

 Otherwise your changes will get overridden the next time you do a sync or
 selfupdate. If you want to test as is, you should be able to do `sudo
 portindex` in the folder
 `/opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs/ports/`.
 That should bring in the py37 subport.
