Comment (by vdoublie):

 Does not fail under Mojave and Xcode 11. Issue may be the fact that darwin
 19 or macosx 10.15 is recognised as a weak link and is not supported. So
 not really an OS issue or Xcode one... more like directly in the configure
 should allow 10.15 to be a strong import.
