 The problem is most likely the use of the unpatched system LLVM. Julia
 requires special patches and recommends to do a custom build of LLVM
 dedicated to julia, see

 I've added a Portfile in the attachments that works for me in version
 1.2.0rc2 . Since this one is to be released soon, I propose to wait for
 1.2.0 and add it to macports, or otherwise change it to version 1.1
 before.
