 FWIW I've started looking at this in a bit more detail and it looks like
 quite a lot has changed since the last alpha so that the patch files need
 a lot of work. Previously, I've managed to get away with just updating the
 metadata of the source files.

 In particular, unless I'm completely overlooking something, setup.py has
 been significantly rewritten: the note about DEBUGGING has been removed;
 `disabled_module_list` has been capitalised, etc. Not really sure how to
 proceed with this.
