 I don't think the functionality you suggest is necessarily a bad idea; I
 do something similar quite often by working on a local copy of the
 macports-ports repository, using the GitLens extension for Visual Studio
 Code and asking it to "open file on remote". But I don't know that it fits
 the existing scope of `port info`, whose output is based entirely on the
 contents of a portfile.

 This is already available from `port file`.
