 So the way I'm putting this together is that the build was correctly
 detecting the PPC970, but the PPC970 build was broken, so it only worked
 for us if we forced a PPCG4 build.

 The above patch (comment:22) fixes the PPC970 build, so -- no more forcing
 needed.
