 Thanks. I am fairly confident that the problem in #23 is related (it's
 from exiv2 which is wrapped by gexiv2).  Yes, it might arise because I
 have been trying to hack a workaround, but fundamentally it's arising from
 the original gexiv2 versioning issue.
