 There are some issues with how this ticket has been filed: it does not
 specify any specific ports, nor notify any maintainers (if applicable).
 You will likely need to provide more information. What led up to
 encountering this error—what were you trying to install?

 It is known that `+universal` variants cannot normally be built on macOS
 10.**14** Mojave due to inability to build 32-bit software:
 wiki:MojaveProblems#GeneralIssues. To my knowledge nothing requiring
 `gperf` specifically requires `gperf +universal`.
