 myabe, but please note any changes to the logic in cctools as to how the
 version of clang is picked needs to be mirrored in the logic in the gcc9
 and gcc10 ports. See

 The change you suggest will require you to also update the logic above to
 match.

 What I describe, whilst requiring a bit more work in cctools would allow
 the logic above to more or less be completely removed, and install the gcc
 ports would just need to make sure a new enough clang was available, safe
 in the knowledge that the logic in cctools would pick it up.
