 Thanks for looking into this!

 Your suggestions are quite technical.

 What... should be updated to version 8.0.1?
 No clue about accessor functions. Something I should do? Or you as
 maintainer of ds9?

 My openssl version is openssl @1.1.1d_0 (active).
