 the current macports ksh93 version has assorted bugs. some of them have
 been reported and fixed by the ksh93 maintainers. a new release is
 available for download at the github side (there should be another one
 soon, I hope: still bugs).

 question: how often and according to what policy is the macports ksh93
 package updated? in this special case it might be helpful to do the
 updates frequently since the package is under quite heavy refactoring
 activity (and regressions are creeping in etc.)
