 Ryan, Chris, Josh -- should we just put a Catalina blocker in all gcc
 versions < gcc9, to head off these tickets? We can update that if/when the
 fixes are ported to older versions.

 The only loss here is `pdftk`, for which I think there is another
 alternative now that doesn't need `gcc5`.
